The Labor union industry has been an instrumental building block from which we have built our practice. For over 40 years, Graff, Ballauer & Blanski, P.C. has provided a full range of specialized, industry specific audit and accounting services to organized labor.

Our audits are designed to ensure that financial statements of the labor organization are accurate and can provide information necessary to assist management in the decision making process. Incorporated with our audits, our objective is to provide assistance to management with valued and insightful information.

In addition, compliance reporting for labor organizations has become increasingly complex with the reformatted LM-2 report. We coordinate audit procedures with the reporting requirements of the LM-2 to make certain your organization is in compliance with all required rules and disclosures. As a Part of our Labor Union practice we also audit several Political Action committees.


Employee Benefit Plan Audits

Employee benefit plan audits include audits of pension, health and welfare, and 401(k) plans subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) under the regulatory authority of the U.S. Department of Labor. Generally, federal law requires employee benefit plans with 100 or more participants to have an audit as part of their obligation to file an annual Form 5500. Our firm is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. This program requires its members to maintain highest standards in performing employee benefit plan audits and also requires extensive staff continuing education. Our firm is also a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans which helps us in keeping current with best practices for auditing employee benefit plans.


Single Audit “Yellow Book” Audits

“Accountability for public resources” drives accounting standards and auditor responsibility for conducting Yellow Book Audits. At Graff, Ballauer & Blanski, P.C., our auditors have the experience and required education to provide quality audits based upon the mandated governmental framework. Our audits are designed to enhance user confidence in reported results of operations and the related internal controls.
